Warrender, Scott - Only A Likeness

Scott Warrender was formerly a member of the group Joyous Celebration. The easygoing mellow style of his solo album weighs in very close to that of fellow keyboardist Doug Howell. That means soft vocals, sweeping string orchestration, gentle female backing vocals, dreamy layered production, rich moving melodies and an emphasis on piano. Soft-jazz touches on ‘When You’re Really You’, ‘Sacrifice Of Praise’ and the edgier ‘Care’, the latter also revealing classical influences. ‘Maya-Li’ is a beautiful stirring ballad inspired by a little girl who escaped from a war zone to a missionary compound. Dan Nelson of Joyous Celebration produced the record and also provides electric guitar. Kathy Herivel appears on backing vocals. Same Washington label as Lionsong’s Personal.  (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).

I have not acquired this album yet.  Thank you abacus for the track list.
