Turn Turn Turn (SRC-5112) 1968?
Two women and their bare-bones home-made folk recording of standards and spiritual songs. Toni Wilson and Georgia Murphy have the kind of voices you might hear singing lead in the choir (think “soprano” and “alto”). Stylistically closer to some of those folk-singing nuns than your hippie coffee-house performers ‘If I Had A Hammer’, ‘Old Blue’, ‘Early Morning Rain’, ‘Very Last Day’, ‘Edelweiss’, a few Christmas carols, thirteen songs in all. Harmonies backed by quiet acoustic guitar. Colorful front cover design, blank on back. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and the track list.
