Son, Dance — Sun, Dance (Praise PRS 215) 1975? Canada *
A fine collection of tuneful original songs from Va
r, British Columbia folk-singer, presented by himself along with a small five-person band. Acoustic guitar and piano share the spotlight joined by bass, drums and female background vocals The overall feel is that of a simple earthy live light rock performance. The title tune is presented in two lengthy parts. Other selections include ‘Come! Sing!’, ‘Springtime’, ‘Time Moves On’, ‘Draw Me Close’ and ‘Into Your Presence’, plus four briefer tracks (‘Holy, Holy, Holy’, ‘Our Father”, ‘Lamb Of God’ and ‘Gospel Acclamation’). Reminds me a little of later FEL artists like Jim Shaw and Bob Hurd. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for sharing the rear cover photo and the track list.
