Splendorous collection of summery soft rock tunes from talented guy/gal North Carolina outfit. Titusoverture features a warm blend of acoustic and electric guitars, filled in with a variety of keyboards, including piano, electric piano, organ, synthesizer and ARP string ensemble. The song-writing is top-notch from beginning to end. ‘The Road We Travel’ is a typical track, leading the way with its bright catchy melody, vibrant uplifting male/female harmonies and soulful organ accompaniment. ‘Just Thoughts’ is another stand-out, a dynamic melancholy ballad touched with solemn mysterious edges. Other stirring slow tracks include “The Son Can Set You Free’ and ‘Such A Funny Feeling’, The electric wah—wah guitar growls rather intensely on ‘The Mathew Principle’. Saxophone on a few tracks, including the short instrumental ‘Titusoverture Disco Reprise’. Ties to John Wesley College. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
