High On Hope! (Pinebrook PB 1490) 1979

Morningstar - High On Hope

Elegant custom of original songs from Springfield, Ohio guy/gal foursome with piano-oriented harmonized melodious semi-artsy 2nd Chapter/Nutshell brand of soft rock and folk. One of the album’s highlights is the hard-edged title track which is abuzz with some good hardy electric guitar soloing. ‘Fragrant As A Forest’ is another stand-out, a beautiful ethereal acoustic ballad that’s graced with moving cello accompaniment In between are several fine melodic tracks like ‘The Mountain Of The Lord’, ‘Easter Presence’, ‘Lovers Of The Lamb’, ‘The Friends I Have In Jesus’ and ‘Sad Truths, Sweet Promises’. Quite a lovely album. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
