A New Day (Crusade LP1234) 1975?
Home-made garagy Nebraska record with cheerful summery blend of ‘70s pop/soul and rock. There’s trumpet, trombone, piccolo and flute on about every track, which can be a little sloppy and out-of-tune at times, but I came to appreciate it after a few plays. Besides, the electric guitars have some catchy phasing and wah—wah effects. Soulful lead male vocals, with male/female backing harmonies. All songs written by the band, including ‘1 Want To Thank You, Lord’, ‘Children Of God’, ‘Jesus’, ‘His Love Gives Meaning’ and “Someday Forever’. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and the track list.
