Another Campus Crusade For Christ outfit that traveled the globe performing their cheery robust folk songs to the masses. Original formed in Southern California in 1967, these six guys and three girls ended up in London where they recorded the debut album for the British Key label. Acoustic guitars, upright bass, banjo, tambourine and tight harmonies are all put together for invigorated treatments of standards like ‘You Can Tell The World’, ‘Jordan’s River’ and ‘If I Had My Way’. If they tend to sound a bit generic and low on originality, it’s certainly not for lack of talent, but rather the limited, well-worn nature of the ‘60s folk hootenanny format Still I’d say they were probably among the best that did this style. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
