Alpenglow - Run And See

Cheryl, Daphne, John and Steve’s custom debut Run And See starts out with standard low—budget treatments of songs by Wyrtzen, Crouch, and Omartian, carried along by female lead vocals, with jazzy backing from a combo of piano, drums, bass and saxophone. The flip side, however, is a different story: all original songs written by the two ladies, ‘Revolution’ and ‘Behold’ both manage respectable basement folk-rock vibes. ‘Dealing With Fire’ gets a decent beat going while interjecting fitting touches of psychy organ. The title track is an attractive acoustic ballad, while ‘Send Me’ combines piano and sax for a catchy jazzy lounge groove. Closes with the soft dreamy ‘God Is Peace’. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
