Song, Soul & Six Strings (Lighthouse 207) 1976?

Ayers, Jim - Song Soul & Six Strings

Jim Ayars - Song (Fnt)

Simple home-made voice—and-guitar album from young folk-singing gent. The acoustic guitar backing is proficient, but Jim’s unfathomably deep voice might take some getting used to. At least it’s a soothing voice, not a loud bombastic one. Good variety in the song choices, including spirituals, hymns and folk songs. ‘2000 Years’, ‘Shall We Gather At The River’, ‘Motherless Child’, ‘Shoot Your Own Side First’ (an original song), ‘If It Be Heresy’, ‘This World Is Not My Home’, eight more. Reminds me of William Flanders (with a lower voice). Northville, Michigan custom label. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
