Song For The Morning (Morning Song MSR—701) 1978

Cowboy-hatted Virginian’s outpouring of melodic country rock and folk. Good sound for a private press that features the assistance of ten or so musicians (including Scott Wesley Brown) who contribute guitars, pedal steel, moog, Fender Rhodes, bass, drums, etc. Usually a happy kind of sound, sometimes pretty energetic with some similarities to later Pat Terry Groups I especially liked ‘Psalm 151’, a dreamy acoustic piece backed by wind chimes and mellotron-like strings. On par with or better than most of the same era’s Maranatha stuff. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
