May I Introduce You To A Friend (Black Cat CJ2750) 1977
Front and back cover photos of this custom project suggest a femme folk-singer album, but the periodic loungy piano/Arp arrangements and clean vocals push her closer to Evie and Cynthia Clawson zones. Smooth, mellow and semi-traditional, but at least it’s not cluttered up with orchestration, plus acoustic guitar is still the primary instrument most of the time. Covers of The Dameans (“Without Clouds’), Sebastian Temple (‘Prayer Of St. Francis’) and the Jamie Owens title song. She also recorded an album of secular pop covers called There Is Love. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo.
