Brothers & Sisters, The - Sing A New Song

Great custom folk lp of songs written and performed by members of the Burning Bush Coffeehouse in Connecticut. Usually one singer in the ‘ spotlight with only a handful of instruments backing, usually guitar, bass, maybe flute. Mostly acoustic ballads, jangly folk. or joyful country folk-rock tunes, all performed with a sense of conviction. Good voices, nice melodies. The personal testimonies on the back give insight into the lives behind the songs. Sue after a life of drugs’ and the occult sings ‘You’ve Got A Father’ to her son. Eddie a former Marxist now invites his listeners to ‘Meet The Holy Spirit’. Real gem of an lp with a great cover, too. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
