Young Folk In Worship

The full name of the group here is actually the Manchester Grammar School Christian Music Group with Heather Jones. That’s “young” as is in roughly high school or college age. There’s around a dozen or so members, mostly male. Not really an ensemble since only one or two are singing at any given time. Heather is identified as a Welsh folk-singer, a member of the Bara Menyn trio who apparently made some television and radio appearances. Most of her songs are done in the pure folk style, while the rest have a fuller sound with electric guitar, piano and flute not unlike some of Reflection’s material, especially when they’re covering a Sidney Carter song. Not a stunner, just pleasant competent British folk.  (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
