Stand By Him (Tri—Art TAS-7421) 1974

Harmon, Steve - Stand By Him

Steve Harmon’s custom record has that mid—‘70s Catholic folk feel. very similar to Joe Wise and Ray Repp’s output from the same period. Moods switch back and forth from spirited strummed numbers in the old World Library label tradition to melodic folk/pop to more brooding somber pieces. Some songs are done in a purely acoustic fashion while others have soft string orchestration or flute accompaniment. Mostly Harmon’s own tunes, plus a brisk run through the hillbilly ‘Auctioneer’. From Bismarck, North Dakota. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
