Vol 7 – Oh Happy Day (The Circus Tent 5111N1) 1975?
Volume VII broadens the group’s “Jesus folk” side by working in material from Barry McGuire (‘Peace’), 2nd Chapter Of Acts (‘Easter Song’) and fellow North Carolinians The Bridge (the banjo/kazoo number ‘Drink That Living Water’). Electric piano and piano appear alongside the acoustic guitars on a few songs. Some fine original titles including ‘Tree Of Life’ and ‘Must Be The Son Of God’, the latter with a nice acoustic guitar lead. ‘Donkey Song’ is this album’s silly animal tune. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
Thank you Donald for the front and rear photos.
