Vol 6 – Consider It All Joy (The Circus Tent 4111N1) 1974

New Hermeneutics, The - Consider It All Joy

This one includes covers of Moose Smith (‘A Tree Is Known By Its Fruit’), Jamie Owens (‘May I Introduce You To A Friend’) and Larry Norman (‘Sweet Song Of Salvation’). Member Scott Wilkinson wrote three of the songs: the title track, ‘I Look At You, Jesus’ and ‘The Poodle And The Hound’, the latter supplying this album’s goofy animal— sounds number. ‘1 John 4’ has a nice mood, one of the girls reading the passage over-top two finger-picked acoustic guitars. Otherwise it’s mostly a simple straightforward harmonized acoustic folk style, with the occasional addition of piano or electric piano. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
