Pure Devotion (Decca DL 7-5324) 1971
Attractive female singer/songwriter mainstream production. Titles like ‘Devotion’, ‘Golden Friend’, ‘Make Ends Meet”, ‘Some More Of Your Lovin’ and ‘Help Me Jesus’ display an elegant piano—led pop—rock and ballads style reminiscent of Carole King. She also gets a few rock grooves going on ‘Walking By His Open Door’, ‘Ask The Lord’ and ‘It All Comes Back To You’, some of these with earthy down-South rural vibes. Lindy plays piano and wrote all the compositions, assisted by several other musicians. Periodic string orchestration. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
