Song (JJC&B no #) 1979
Okay harmonizing folk foursome (three guys, one girl) from Chicago. Their custom album is a mix of simple acoustic songs, light rock, folk/praise and a cappella numbers. Often a background of gentle synth strings behind the acoustic guitars. ‘Jerusalem The Gold’ provides straight forward jangly folk, while ‘Thank You, Thank You Jesus’ is clipped from a live performance that includes a lesson on singing the song in Swahili. Wah-wah electric guitar gives a lift to ‘Jesus’ Freedom’, as well as the whimsical ‘Jesus First Security Kingdom Bank’. Part of Lutheran Youth Encounter. John Burch of Spiritbome assists. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. Thank you Donald for the rear cover photo and song list, Thank you Laura for the song list.
