Songs Of The Father (no label 2323) 1975
Actually there’s no group name listed on the cover, but it’s the same folks and the previous two releases are listed on the back. Same lovely male/female folk sound as before, but with noticeable maturity in the presentation. Jangly tunes alternate with solemn reflective ballads. Nice recorder on ‘Praise The Lord’ and ‘Psalm 63’. They introduce organ to their sound on ‘The Kingdom Song’, piano on ‘Let Hearts Rejoice’. Also a cover of Carey Landry’s ‘Only A Shadow’. New member Paul Wrynn contributes four of his own songs. Many of the titles are inspired by the book of Psalms. Really precious. The group recorded additional albums under the name He Shall Be Peace (see entries). (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
I have not acquired this album yet. [table “5” not found /]
