Sing To The Lord A New Song (Century 26190) 1967

St Pius X Seminary Choir - Sing To The Lord

An earlier less interesting album. The back cover newspaper clipping states “Church Rocks To Modern Sounds”, but in reality the Reverend hadn’t stepped out that much yet. As such this record is more in line with primitive Catholic choral/folk albums like Ray Repp’s Mass For Young Americans, The New Day’s It ’s A Brand New Day and side one of Praise The Lord In Many Voices Vol 1. (ie, all those ancient priests with-guitars records). Typically you’ve got the choir (just the guys on side one, joined by the women on side two), a few acoustic guitars, an electric bass, a woodblock, some bongo percussion, maybe a banjo‘ Drums and brass join in for the jazzy ‘Kyrie’ (from Frank Tirro’s Jazz Mass). Also covers of Sister Germaine (‘Love One Another’), Peter Scholtes (‘Bossa Nova Mass’, ‘They’ll Know We Are Christians By Our Love’), several Ray Repp songs. We finally get to hear some electric guitar on the closing ‘In Christ There Is No East And West’ (not that it’s any big deal). Recorded in concert at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sacramento on February 19, 1967.     (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).

In researching the above title I discovered that St. Pious X Seminary Choir also released a 3rd album in titled Sing Out With Joy To The Lord.  The year and album cover I was unable to locate or the label.  I am wondering if anyone was found this album?  Brian Than you for the song list and the rear cover photo.
