Peacemaker  (LH-11245/6)  1974?

Geller, Charles - Peacemaker

Perhaps the only album in human history to include both Larry Norman’s ‘I Wish We’d All Been Ready’ and Mac Davis’ ‘Hollywood Humpty Dumpty’. Also covers of Jim Croce (‘Bad, Bad Leroy Brown’) and John Denver (‘I Guess I’d Rather Be In Colorado’). Four originals: ‘Open Heart Surgery’, ‘Only One Way To Heaven’, ‘New York Times’ and a repeat of ‘He Set Me Free’. Two additional guitarists helping him out, plus bass, Adventure)’, ‘Only One Way To Heaven’ and ‘Peanut Butter And Jesus’, the latter with the lyric “peanut butter and jelly on bread a1’n’t half as much fun as risin’ from the dead”. Light rockabilly groove and electric guitar solos for ‘I Woke Up This Morning’. Also covers of ‘Back Home Again’, ‘Follow Me’, ‘Starwood In Aspen’ and ‘Grandma’s Feather Bed’ (hey, the guy likes John Denver). (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
