Waiting On The Sonlight (Numark 810106X-2311) 1978
Quality custom album of original country-flavored acoustic and electric tunes comparable to Gordon Lightfoot, Danny Taylor and Michael Kelly Blanchard. Simple arrangements placing Bob’s 12 and 6-string guitars in the forefront, backed by small band with piano, electric guitar, background synthesizer, bass, drums and female harmony vocals. Nice mix of jangling rural folk rock moods, acoustic ballads and soft electric sounds. Some fine country rock moves and electric leads on ‘Comin’ Home’, ‘Rebound’ and the talk-sung ‘Country Happening’. The heaviest and best track, however, is saved for last: ‘Reach Out To People’, a powerful rural rocker where the electric guitar volume is sizably increased. From Clarkston, Michigan. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
