At Vespers  (VJM/Halcon  HAL 22) 1984  UK *

I found this to be an unusual album, in that it combines jazz, hymns, folk, pop/rock and even tinges of bluegrass.  The jazz reminds me of  a New Orleans sound.  The kicker is this album is from the UK.  Some of the hymns are a slow jazz, while several start slowly, they change over to a much faster tempo. Those who love jazz should find this an interesting listen, however there maybe some who won’t enjoy it. There are several long jazz instrumental intros before they start singing.   diakoneo
