Spirit Light (Ark  607)  1972?

Long-haired Lennon-spec’d hippie Jesus freak and his album of acoustic/electric femme-backed percussion-less basement hippie rural folk-rock. Musically the dude seems hip enough. His tunes usually have a folky acoustic vibe, strumming along with chunky electric bass, although several like ‘I’m In Love With My Lord’, ‘You Can Feel Real’, ‘Plastic Jesus’ and ‘In The Dark Of The Night’ also have low-key electric guitar kicking around in the background. A few twanged guitar solos here and there, both acoustic and electric. Joe on rhythm, lead and steel guitars, assisted by others on bass, piano, background vocals and additional guitars. Liner notes say he spent some time in Greenwich Village and published a comic book called ‘Dead Earth Comics’. Joe is also known for his spacey cover artwork, Mystery Revealed and Jesus Festival Of Music being perhaps his most striking designs.    (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
