Travelin’ (Music Master 1001)  1980

Young Staneckers, The - Travelin'

The group becomes a foursome, picking up Gary Lunn on bass, percussion, lead guitar and vocals.  Travelin’ seems to be a bit more consistant overall than Feelin’ Good Feelin’ Free.  Some more good rockers in here: the Servant-like ‘Flyin’ Away’, ‘People To People’ with its upbeat Doobies vibe, and the gritty jammin’ ‘Rock That Won’t Roll’.  Mellotron-like synthesizer adds atmosphere to several tracks, particularly ‘Clean, Clear,And Good’.  Also sitar and phasing effects for the guitars in a couple spots.  The semi-spacey closing song ‘2001’ speculates the world will be like entering the new millennium, working in the themes from 2001: A Space Odyssey (i.e. ‘Also Sprach Zarathustra’) and Jesus Christ Superstar. Ballads and soft rock fill out the remainder of the lp.       (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).

Sorry I have not acquired this album yet, so no track list.
