The Peacemakers (Herald ELR 1070) 1965 UK *
This 4-song EP finds the group advancing into that enthusiastic mid-‘60s stomping garage/beat style of bands like The Standells. Phasing, tremolo, big drums, loud vocals – this thing rocks even better than their full-length lp! Songs include ‘Not Now, But Tomorrow’ (later covered on Justyn Rees’s first solo lp), ‘Witness’, ‘Blood Upon Your Hands’ and ‘Satisfied’, none of which appeared on their subsequent album. Nice pic sleeve of the band – note that at this point there was a girl in the group (Jennifer Rees, backing vocals). (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
