Durch Spiel Und Sport  (Darnok  DF6062) 1977  Germany *

Sorry No Picture of the Art Work on this Album

Unusual and at times interesting German record,  mostly in an electric light rock direction.  Organ and electric guitar are in there, plus there are some creative experimental passages on the one side that could potentially earn them a “progressive” tag (including spoken portions, waltz-time, whistles, snatches of the ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ and Beethoven’s ‘Fifth  Symphony’, and a tango  groove with wah-wah guitar).  Unfortunately the music often just seems sort of drab, never quite totally drawing you in.  Even the fuzz guitar comes across rather rinky-dink.  Certainly sounds German through and through.  Group name means “new person”.  Definitely different, mildly intriguing overall.      (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
