Psalm Writer (CSS 309) 1978
Psalm Writer pushed back even further in a mellow direction. The polished melodic folk-rock sound includes a mixture of ballads (‘You And Me’, ‘Sunday Morning’, ‘Serenade’) and light upbeat tracks (‘Psalm 40’, ‘He First Loved Me’), sometimes with pop or MOR influences. Includes assistance from Pat Terry (acoustic guitar, synthesizer) and Sonny Lallerstedt (electric and acoustic guitars). In fact some of the better songs where keyboards take a back seat reminded me of The Pat Terry Group. The closing acoustic ballad ‘Singin’ This Song’ recalls the best of Suncast. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
