Lord Of The Dance (Crest International  CRT-12-SLP-32)  1972? Australia *

Long-haired folk/pop singer rendering Jesus-themed popular songs such as ‘Lord Of The Dance’, ‘Jesus Is A Soul Man’, ‘This Little Light Of Mine’, ‘Morning Has Broken’, ‘Suzanne’, ‘I knew Jesus Before He Was A Superstar’, etc.  Best cut is the opening ‘John’, an eerie almost tribal cover of the Medical Mission Sisters song about John the Baptist that’s led by bass, drum and didgeridoo.  Also a moving a cappella version of Pete Seager’s ‘My Father’s Mansion’.   Other instruments include guitars, piano, saxophone, flute and mandolin.  Backing vocals by the Proclaimers.       (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
