In Scandinavia (Evangelii Center – ECLP-130) 1972 Sweden*
Some good primitive psych/garage edges on this one, primarily due to Ewa-Maria’s omnipresent organ, but there’s also some crude electric guitar underlying a few tracks, plus a respectable presence of electric bass and drums. This studio album features several lively songs bouncing along in the group’s trademark minor-key style weirded over as usual with Timo’s booming caffinated lounge croon. A few slow ones as well, including the downright creepy ‘Pray’ where the girls almost sound like they’re high sing/moan lines like “O Lord I need your brain” (at least I think that’s what they’re saying). Other songs in English include ‘They Crucifided Him’ and parts of ‘My Song Shall Be Of Jesus’ and ‘Send The Power’. The remaining selections are either in Swedish or Finnish. If you get just one Aaltos album, this would be the one I recommend. Fold-out cover. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
Thank you Donald for the inside gate-fold and rear cover photos.
