Good Seed (Almond Tree CFS 3295)  1973

Liken Selah and Pressed Down Shaken Together & Running Over, Good Seed was another rock band tied to The Way International.  With their horses and Western garb it should come as no surprise that these four gentlemen play rural and country rock, sometimes with a tip of the hat to Poco.  Fiddle, banjo and steel guitar all get their turn, but the edgiest cuts like ‘Living In Love’ feature tough electric guitar ala Joshua (the vocal harmonies are often very similar to Joshua as well).  Good original songwriting and rural vibes on tracks like ‘Born Again’ and ‘Love The Lord’. Also covers of ‘Farther Along’, ‘How Great Thou Art’ (served country style), ‘What A Friend’ and ‘I Saw The Light’.  Brass backing on a couple tracks.  Based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.     (The Archivist by Ken Scott, 4th Edition).
