Never Fades Away (Star Song SSR-0010) 1980

Never Fades Away has a bigger more polished sound than Pam’s previous lps, drifting at times into the Amy Grant CCM zone.  On the other hand there are also a couple of surprisingly good edgier rock tracks in ‘Who Taught You The Game’  and the title tune, with the sax-backed ‘Your Book’ not too far behind.  Mostly Pam-written originals, plus Salmond & Mulder’s ‘Strength To Be Weak’ and a great dreamy jazz-laced cover of Bruce Cockburn’s ‘Lord Of The Starfields’.  Marty McCall of Fireworks shares lead vocals on ‘Little Miss Much Afraid’.  Produced and arranged by Fletch Wiley.   (The Archivist by Ken Scott, 4th Edition).
