Cradle Of Love (Sparrow SPR-1012) 1977
Cradle continues in the relaxed country style of No Longer Alone on cuts like ‘Mighty Wind’, ‘Takin’ Me Higher’, ‘Lord How Did It Feel?’ and ‘Golden Gate Sunset’, leaving mild impressions of rural folks like The Eagles, Bob Seger and Neil Young. Effective use of violin on ‘Satisfied With Blindness’ and the solem end-times ballad ‘A Tale Of The Times’. Other ballads like ‘Carry Me Away’ and ‘The Potters Clay’ are mellowed with light string orchestration from David Diggs. Catchy steel guitar work on the lively Latin-flavored ‘Let It Play’. Includes assistance from Al Perkins and Jon Linn among others. (The Archivist by Ken Scott, 4th Edition).
