Dinner And Joy On The Ground (Paula records LPS 2211) 1972?

Ok, not what you would call Jesus Music, but wait. The record has a narrator telling the story of the camp meeting amidst 10 songs what you would call fairly well known Gospel songs. If you just listen to the first very churchy (revive us again) there isn’t much here, but tucked inside here are a few songs with a soloist who could sing lead for Creedence Clearwater Revival, and man does he sing and do they play! The audience singing along is called Kell Street Joy Freek Audience! If this had been indicative of the enthusiasm and wild singing found in the established church in the late 60’s and early 70’s, many Jesus People would have found a ready home.  Not found in (The Archivist by Ken Scott, 4th Edition) Review by KS
