Rejoice! (Mace M(S) 10030) 1982

In the middle of the polished ’80’s ccm scene, this Illinois band set their sights back a few years to a simpler rural acoustic style that recalls The Gamble Folk’s best moments. Heartfelt male/female harmonies backed by a gentle folksy blend of acoustic guitar, banjo, bass, harmonica, mandolin, fiddle, flute and piano. Also some impresions of Tommy Coomes projects (The Praise Album, Wing & A Prayer, Love Song), particularly in the vocals. Most songs written by members Rick and Gary Ringger. Percussionist Tim Saunder also has an earlier solo LP. ‘We’ll Be Gone’, ‘I Am Free’, ‘Brighter Days’, ‘Too Late For Me’, ‘The Darkest Hour Before The Dawn’ and ‘Jesus Brings Happiness’ are a sampling of the titles. Sincere and refreshing. (The Archivist by Ken Scott, 4th Edition).

Seems to be a different album. Song titles do not match the above The Archivist description.  diakoneo
