The Potter’s Clay (Audiolab AP2083) 1971?
Eight Ann Arbor collegiate-looking types with amateur renderings of ‘Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?’, ‘Tin Soldier’, ‘Easy To Be Hard’, as well as more God-oriented stuff. Not too far off from the happy Youth For Christ folk/pop sound but with more of a basement feel, pumped up with cheesy low-tech organ and garagy drums (which get a nice lengthy solo between ‘God, Love And Rock N Roll’ and ‘Oh Happy Day’). A few narrations and testimonies, mildly weird at times like ‘Are These Your Thoughts’ which is recitation over woodblock and tablas. Brass and small orchestra in a couple spots. Overall moderately interesting with a wild cover that makes you wish it coulda been something bigger. (The Archivist by Ken Scott, 4th Edition).
