Stumbling Heavenward (Image VII 7763) 1979 Canada *

At their coolest Roy Salmond and Mike Mulder muster up some satisfying cruising country rock and crunchy r&r with choice guitar leads. Less of interest are the typical radio-ready MOR ballads. In between are a few likable orchestrated tunes in the Seals & Crofts, America and CSN direction. Clean production. Familiar names in the credits include Tom Howard, Al Perkins, Jamie Owens-Collins and Nellie Ward. US pressing has a photo of the twosome on the cover. The Canadian release bears the title Stumbling Heavenward and has a picture of a paint-splattered tennis shoe. (The Archivist by Ken Scott, 4th Edition).
