Wheat And Weeds (Paulist PPR 0003) 1974

Some nice female vocals on this very pretty Catholic folk item. Has the feel of some of the better nun folk productions, although there are only two vocalists here: Ann Mack sound and Geraldine Kavanaugh, joined at times by a children’s choir that blends in fine. The use of cello, flute and recorder definitely adds to the album’s charm. Also includes acoustic guitar, bass, drums and percussion. All lyrics by Joan Vail Thorne, mostly based on the parables of Christ. Back cover says Paraclete Records, label and spine say Paulist Press (also home to the two Holy Ghost Reception Committee #9 lps). (The Archivist by Ken Scott, 4th Edition)
