Meet God, Man! (Concordia 79-9895) 1972

Quite a hodgepodge of styles on this “contemporary Resurrection opera”, constantly switching from loungy MOR, folk, rock, pop, jazz, spacey weird stuff, spoken word over music, monotone a cappella liturgical solos, avant garde. Pleasantly weird overall. You just might find psychy wah-wah and fuzz guitar right alongside jazz piano segueing into power brass, strings, and harpsichord. Brief musical passages meld into lengthy 9, 11, and 14-minute opuses. Some nice stuff in here though once you start diggin’ a tune it shifts pretty quickly into something else. Better than most things that gets the “rock opera” tag. Composed by Richard Koehneke and John Schroeder. Attractive booklet included. (The Archivist by Ken Scott, 4th Edition).
