There’s A Sweet Spirit (Rainbow RR0157) 1978
Peaceful reflective folk custom from husband/wife duo Loren & Beth Sandford. Both of them have rich dynamic voices (especially Beth’s soprano), but thankfully they keep things toned done for this gentle acoustic setting. Titles like ‘The Bell Song’, ‘Tick Tock’, ‘Jesus Heals The Wounds’, ‘The Ice Cream Man’ and ‘Song Of Solomon’ are backed by Loren’s acoustic guitar (and sometimes piano), plus periodic input from others on bass, percussion, recorder and string synthesizer. The closing ‘You’ll Be There’ is especially lovely. From a ministry called Elijah House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Same label that released albums by Heirship and Emmaus Road. (Ken Scott – The Archivist).
