Jody Abbott (SSS 1003/RB 001) 1978
Pat Terry Group members Sonny Lallerstedt and Randy Bugg produced this custom album at their Twelve Oaks studio. Sonny/Randy productions are always a pleasant listen, and Jody is no exception as he cruises through ten songs in that familiar Georgia countryside PTG folk-rock sound. Relaxed acoustic ballads (‘Loving Me Through It All’, ‘You Can Rest Easy’) as well as upbeat 12-string tunes (‘Praise Him’, ‘Shine, Shine, Shine’) and easygoing bluesy numbers (‘New Life Waiting’). ‘Touch Of The Master’s Hand’ takes the familiar auctioneer/violin poem and sets it to new original music by Jody. Electric guitar on a few songs, plus simple femme backing vocals throughout. “Jody really loves Jesus and was able to write all these songs.” (Ken Scott – The Archivist).
