This is something I wrote that was in the bulletin called Shared Life of Our Heritage Church in Scottsdale, Az sometime before Easter in 1976. As Easter dates are mentioned in other things on the page.

Is not the very shape of the cross the sign post of love and brotherhood take a look. There hangs a man with out-stretched arms. Come, draw near and hear as He forgives us for putting Him there.

He hung there for the purpose of throwing those blood-stained, nail-scarred hands and arms around us and telling us that we’re loved, that he welcomes us as brothers and sisters and as friends and not servants.
