Let The Music Move Me (White Horse WHR 1001) 1977
When he’s hot keyboardist Stephen Alexandersen rocks persuasively, echoing the dynamic soulful spirit of Joe Cocker. The title cut, ‘Lyin’ Lucifer’ and ‘Sing Unto The Lord’ all qualify, Stephen’s gritty vocals gettin’ down amidst a musical brew of bangin’ piano/organ, rousing horns and gospelly background vox from Myriad, the Jessy Dixon Singers and the Thompson Community Singers. Elsewhere the ccm overtones evoke such artists as Andrae Crouch, Keith Green, James Ward and B J Thomas. Same label as Albrecht, Roley & Moore’s Gently Flowing Feeling. As with that record, this one is also pressed on white vinyl. (Ken Scott – Archivist).
