GREG SHELLEY

He’s The One (Lightship HHR-77101) 1977

Meet Greg “I am John Denver” Shelley. He’s The One is a pretty fair approximation of Denver’s mellow country-folk-pop-MOR side, so if you enjoyed smarmy hits like ‘I’m Sorry’, ‘Calypso’, ‘looking For Space’, ‘Fly Away’, etc., you’ll probably be able to handle the Christian equivalents presented here. Mostly slow tunes, many doctored up with strings and woodwinds, a few left alone for a more simple country/folk mood, like ‘Wasted Years’ and the upbeat closing track ‘I’ve Been Through The Blood’ (complete with Denver-esque pseudo-yodels). Seattle custom label. (Ken Scott – Archivist)

Hi, I am Greg Shelley, the artist. I appreciate your website’s tribute to He’s The One. I do not know if it will be released again because controlling interest is held by Lightship records. And that label is inactive. If I am able to arrange a re-release, or if I can gain control of the rights and release it myself, I will let you know.

As you know, I am releasing albums now that are available on most major download sites and outlets like Amazon.com. And I am planning a Christmas album(tentatively for Christmas of 2008) Thank you for the link to my site, and may God bless.
